This is the special display room. Here, we hold 3 special gallery events throughout the year, one in spring, summer and winter.  Themes of these events include “Special Exhibition Booth” like sharks and jellyfish, “Location and Creatures” that focus on creatures found in specific locations like Yakushima Island and Tokara Islands, “Man and Sea creatures” focusing on professions like the fishery industry to show how people here have coexisted with the ocean, and many more themes.

During fall, it becomes a “Break Time Information Gallery”, where visitors can rest and enjoy various displays.
