Vestimentiferan Tubeworm
Vestimentiferan tubeworm is a type of the bristle worm and was discovered in Kinko Bay on February, 1993, at 82 m sea depth.
They live in tubes they create on their own and only expose their red gills from the tip. They do not have mouths or stomachs, but the bacteria living in their body provide them with nutrients they create from hydrogen sulfide ions. This allows them to survive without eating. These creatures are known as chemical synthesis symbiosis creatures.
Vestimentiferan tubeworms of KinkoBay live in muddy areas 82 to 110 m sea depth. Depending on the location, they live in large colonies.
