Antler Coral
Antler coral lives on slops of coral reefs facing the open sea, so they have thick sturdy branches to repel strong waves. They are found on the south of Kochi prefecture.
Large one can be 1 m in diameter and 50 cm tall.
The tip of their branch is wider than the stem. The gaps are deep and various fish sleep in it at night. Between its branches, coral crabs and coral gobies live there.
Antler corals vary in color. They can be green, brown, purple, or pink.
